This might be a regular graphics-driver-related issue, but there's potentially a simpler thing to try:
Windows sometimes fails to copy the video output between graphics cards, and some players have reported that it looks like the game freezing. If you have a regular desktop PC, do check that your monitor is connected to your graphics card, and not to the motherboard.
As a bonus: this will make games run a bit faster in general.
